International Playboy Part 4 - Sapporo, snow and supplies

Miles got up a tad on the wrong side of his portacot, but he cheered up once we got on the move -- a quick cab to the station, then the monorail to Haneda Airport, where we met up with Nanny Rob.  Had time for a quick omelette and mystery sausage for breakfast before the short flight to Sapporo.  Miles had a good flight mostly playing games with Nanny, but wasn't so keen on the take off and landing.  I wouldn't be surprised if his ears hurt during air pressure changes, given that he's probably inherited his dad's malfunctioning sinuses.

Our friendly SkyBus driver met us at Sapporo airport and we had just enough time to buy some freshly made salmon and tuna onigiri take away, about the best airport fare ever.  Miles had a lovely bus trip handing out on Daddy's lap and watching the scenery whizz by, catching has first sight of snow (which his dad didn't manage until 14 y.o).  The last 20 minutes of the trip were increasingly snowy and we arrived at Niseko to 30-40cm of fresh powder at village level.  Very exciting indeed.

Ripper's pre-trip research had landed us a fantastic rented house complete with car included...warm, well appointed and with great views of Yotei (local snow capped volcano).  Dad braved the snowy roads to head up to the Seicomart to buy a few urgent supplies - beer, wine and other less important stuff, including a carton of drinking yogurt cleverly disguised as milk, whose identity wasn't uncovered until poured into tea the next morning.

We had the task of keeping Nanny Rob in check until Jess, Yuumi and cousin Levi arrived.  Not an easy task, but we were just able to contain the excitement. Just.

Miles enjoyed a change in company on the aircraft from the usual boring mum/dad
